Integrated Group Reading

Welcome to the IGR website

The IGR multi-perspective learning programme involves appealing books and integrated games tied into an incremental progression, and is ready for busy teachers to use with their hardest-to-teach children. The learning through books and games in a small group setting is story-focused to support the enjoyment of reading and encourage deep pupil engagement with text. It replaces guided reading in the classroom until children have become secure early readers.

This project is based at the Graduate School of Education, University of Exeter and has been funded by the Nuffield Foundation. The views expressed are those of the authors and not necessarily those of the Foundation.
